A quick quantity check for reinforcement.
The common mass-per-metre relationship is useful when a bar schedule is being assembled or checked. The allowance is applied to length, then multiplied by the approximate mass per metre.
Governing relationship
For nominal diameter d in millimetres, mass per metre is approximately d²/162 kg/m. Order mass is order length multiplied by that mass per metre.
Do not replace the bar schedule.
- Confirm bar marks, shape codes, couplers, hooks, bends, laps, and anchorage separately.
- Confirm the steel grade and supplier mass tolerances when precision matters.
- Use the reinforcement drawings and bending schedule as the controlling project record.
